Bottle Lake Forest

Bottle Lake Forest offers a range of activities from gentle nature walks, trail running, mountain biking and orienteering, with courses and trails for all skill levels.

Spencer Park Beach

A short 800m walk from Hibburt Park. A great place to enjoy the sea, sand and surf. 

Puharakekenui River

Surfing Lessons for all ages and stages. They also offer a combo deal with Adrenalin Forest for schools.

The Christchurch City Council offers a range of free educational services to schools. Programmes on offer in our area are: Forest Explorer, Saving the Sand Dunes and Searching the Shoreline, which are all best suited for primary age children.

Surf Life Saving NZ offer water safety programmes to equip young people with life-saving knowledge; including how to identify and escape from rip currents and how to practice safe, fun ocean activities.

The Styx Living Laboratory Trust is a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are passionate about caring for the Puharakekenui/Styx River and developing learning and research of the river catchment. They offer educational programmes to schools and community groups.
