THE RACE
Course Description
The course is a 5.5km loop beginning in Hibburt Park. Competitors
will exit the Hibburt Park grounds and run alongside Heyders Road
towards Spencer Beach. After a short beach section, head into
Bottle Lake Forest, loop back through the forest, along the beach
and back to Hibburt Park, take the perimeter track and drop down
into the race hub and through the finishing shoot to tag (hand over
your timing chip) to your teams next runner.
Race Times
All events start at 9am on Saturday 20 June.
6HR event will end at 3pm, 12HR event will end at 9pm, 24HR event will end at 9am Sunday 21 June.
Teams can collect race packs from Hibburt Park on Friday 19 June or the morning of the race (times to be confirmed) .
24HR teams who choose to book bunk rooms have the option to stay overnight at Hibburt Park on Friday 19 June.
Team Hubs
All teams will be allocated a site within Hibburt Park to set up their team hub. Tents/gazebos permitted as long as they fit within your allocated space. Make this space as cosy and relaxing or as basic and efficient as you like! 24 Hour competitors have the option for their team base to be a bunk room, at an extra cost.
Transitions
Teams will be provided with 1 timing chip between them. Think of this as your baton, you'll need to hand this over to your next runner before they begin their lap. This is a crucial component of this race, don't forget to hand over your chip or your lap won't count! If you want to have a bit of healthy competition within your team and see who did the fastest lap, you'll have to track who ran what lap yourselves.
Running your own race
How your team takes on Revel & Run is a little bit up to you. There can only be 1 person from your team on the track at a time, but you don't always have to have someone running. If you want to maximise your laps and always have someone running, go for it! Want to take a more chilled approach and enjoy lunch altogether, sounds lovely! Or if a 5.5km lap isn't challenging enough for you, complete multiple laps in a row before you pass on your timing chip to another team member. Our rule is only 1 person from your team can be on the track at any given time - the rest is up to you!
Facilities
Within Hibburt Park teams will have access to toilets, hot water, microwaves for heating food.
